About Me
I believe we should try to squeeze as much joy and laughter into life as we can. My family, friendships, and relationships are crucial, and I spend much of my free time with people I love. I also enjoy creating art and playing volleyball.
My journey in the mental health field began working with children and their families on the inpatient psychiatric unit at Seattle Children’s Hospital. My experiences there highlighted the reality that to create change in a struggling child’s life, the whole family may need support and empowerment. I was inspired to focus my career on viewing problems from a systemic lens and consider the impact that relationships and environment have on our lives. This brought me to specialize in intimate partnerships and family therapy, which also benefits individual clients due to the systemic mindset I have learned to utilize in therapy. I graduated from Seattle University in 2024 from the Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy program. I am currently an associate working towards full licensure and am supervised by Rosy De Prado.
I actively work against oppression and am always open to learning more about ways I can best acknowledge and repurpose my privilege into uplifting others. I have led groups and worked with youth, adults, families, and couples from diverse communities including BIPOC, LGBTQIA, neuro-diverse, and various cultures. My passion for this work continues to be inspired by the resiliency and strength that people embody when sharing their story, and I feel grateful for the opportunity to listen and learn from my clients.
I believe everyone deserves to feel love, joy, and safety. Our human responses to trauma, oppression, and unfortunate circumstances may manifest as anxiety, depression, and many other mental health symptoms. I prefer to look beyond the symptoms to see the entire story and person. I believe we all possess the strength to own and modify our personal or collective story, but figuring out how and doing it alone can feel exhausting. Together it’s possible to create a story where the problem and symptoms are not as present.

Modalities & Services
Learning about EMDR was eye opening for me. The theory behind EMDR states that our memories and experiences culminate to form our views of the world and ourselves. Harmful experiences plant the seeds for negative beliefs that continue to grow and validate themselves when compounded over time. We may be flooded by reminders of past traumas that can come in any form: smells, sounds, similar circumstances, etc. We are not always aware of exactly what is being triggered or which memory it correlates to, leaving people feeling “crazy” and experiencing distressing symptoms such as panic attacks, negative thought spirals, depressive episodes, and many other mental and physical effects. EMDR seeks to treat this by targeting these memories and reprocessing them so they aren’t so distressing. I have seen great success using EMDR through virtual only appointments.
The theory behind EMDR has informed the way I view many problems and symptoms, so clients benefit from this knowledge even if EMDR is not used specifically. I have also seen the value of Narrative therapy, and I utilize this as another base theory that can be paired with other interventions. At times we are dragged down by “shoulds” or societal expectations that encourage us to focus on things that may not be serving us. Narrative therapy promotes the reclaiming of our stories, and the emergence of the preferred self we all have in view but may not know how to reach. I have also found Somatic methods to be especially helpful for clients experiencing distressing physical sensations or trouble connecting with their bodies and emotions. I’m also open to new ideas and I love finding creative methods through art, music, and specific interests of my clients.
In relational, family, and intimate partnerships therapy I also utilize Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, Systemic- Relational, and the Gottman method. When working with a child or minor where the caregivers are involved I have often found that some focus on the family system is crucial to create the change desired. Sometimes the problem seems focused on one person, but it’s very difficult for anyone to change if the environment around them stays the same. This is why I ask caregivers to be involved in the therapy process when appropriate, but it is important to me to respect client wishes if they prefer a more individual experience. I also encourage clients to bring in loved ones, friends, or anyone they feel could be beneficial to the process.
